The speaker for the January 2018 ASHRAE BC Meeting is Thomas Orr, Sales Director from TROX Canada.
Thomas's presentation will discuss the various types of chilled beams, how to identify potential opportunities to utilize chilled beams, air-side design, water-side design, layout, control techniques, and how to commission and maintain the systems. We will discuss the basics of chilled beams, as well as the latest North American innovations and design techniques, to include content for all levels of chilled beam experience.
Thomas Orr supports and works directly with consulting engineers, architects and developers in Canada, who are seeking the latest and most innovative, energy-efficient HVAC systems for sustainable commercial building design. He has extensive experience in many facets of the HVAC industry having obtained a trade qualification in air-conditioning and refrigeration, and a National Higher Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from The Durban Institute of Technology. He has served as a contracts engineer and consulting engineer for companies in South Africa and the UAE, prior to immigrating to Canada in 2013.
