Air-to-air energy recovery ventilation (AAERV) provides one of the most cost-effective ways to recycle waste energy and create superior indoor environments – it is also a fundamental tool in achieving our goals for decarbonization and energy efficiency. We will do a deep dive into the fundamentals of most used commercial AAERV technologies and how to best incorporate them into your projects to maximize your decarbonization impact.
About The Presenter: Paul Pieper is the Senior Director of Sales, Master Group
Paul Pieper holds a degree in Pure and Applied Science from Marianopolis College, a Bachelor of Engineering degree from the Department of Building, Civil and Environmental Engineering and a certificate in Software Development from Concordia University in Montreal. He is also a member of the Quebec Order of Professional Engineers.
Through-out his career, Mr. Pieper has been deeply involved with air-to-air energy recovery technologies. He has participated with AHRI on the air-to-air energy recovery product sections for several manufacturers and was part of the United States delegation that helped produce ISO 16494:2014 Heat recovery ventilators and energy recovery ventilators -- Method of test for performance.
Mr. Pieper has contributed to the ASHRAE Handbooks, peer reviewed many articles and has been Chair of both ASHRAE TC 8.12 Desiccant Dehumidification Equipment and Components and ASHRAE TC 5.5 Air-to-Air Energy Recovery. In addition, he was on the Project Monitoring Sub-committee for the ASHRAE Design Guide for Dedicated Outdoor Air Systems and has been Distinguished Lecturer for ASHRAE and routinely presents at ASHRAE Summer and Annual Meetings.
He is currently Chair of TC 5.5. and is an Instructor for the ASHRAE Learning Institute (ALI)
